So my local fabric store got some new laces today! Of course they didn't get anymore of the awesome cluny lace that I bought all of back in March. But new laces are good anyway. Here are some cool ones.
Some angelic pretty esque ice cream lace:
Rainbow eyelet lace
My personal favorite, red heart lace
Teddy bear cluny lace
Lastly AWESOME pink tiger lace. I would've bought it if it wasn't so itchy and cheaply made, but it's still super cool.
Today I made crepes. There's my favorite food. they're also pretty much the only thing I'm good at cooking.
The top one had lemon juice and sugar on it, lemon juice and sugar on crepes are possibly the best thing ever. The chocolate one I made just because I thought a chocolate crepe would be cute, but the lemon ones are actually a lot better.
I named this outfit after the fact that I finished deadman wonderland today. Also I think I'm getting back into pigtails. I've always liked pigtails with really long hair, but by the time my hair got long enough I stopped liking pigtails XD
Today was the second to last day we're having carpenters in our house! After tomorrow I'll be done leaving our house early! Also I applied for a job today and I wore this skirt (but without the loli blouse and acessories).
Skirt: Baby, the stars shine bright
There have been carpenters and plumbers in my house for the past few days so it's been pretty hectic. I haven't had much time to dress up or use the computer because they're in my house between 7:00 and 17:00 so I can't really be in my house at that time, and then when I get back I have to figure out dinner, which sucks because we have limited use of our kitchen.
Anyway, that's enough whining, here's a small update of what I've been buying/sewing.
A new school bag! I really badly needed one, because my old one had holes in it, but now that I have one, I keep worrying about whether or not this bag matches my outfits. My old bag matched none of my outfits and I didn't care..... the pattern on this bag is quite pretty though.
I also made a bow out of some scraps from a skirt I'm making in sewing class. This is probably the least flattering picture of it ever, but I'm going to post it anyway.
So I bought my first app yesterday! I found out I had a little money left in my iTunes account, and what better to spend it on than something sparkly! I bought this app called Princess cam and I've spent all day taking pictures of my friends and covering them in glitter! My family keeps making fun of me for buying this app, but I think I deserved to buy something cute at the end of a crappy week.
Here's how it works, first you take a camwhore-y picture of yourself (notice how I'm totally NOT wearing casual-lolita today).
Then, you make yourself look more attractive, then cover the picture in glitter!
Here are some more I did of myself, because I am a camwhore.
I can't really pull off the circle lens look XD
Lastly here's a picture of my brother, because he's prettier than all of us.
I wasn't allowed in my house for most of the day because the plumbers were there, so I spent most of my day bumming around at the closest McDonald's. On top of that It was really hot today (well, hot for January). I hate it when the weather dosen't match the seasons. Also, I promise myself I won't wear casual loli tomorrow. Even if I wear an outfit I've worn before. I WON'T WEAR CASUAL!
Anyway here's a pretty standard casual lolita outfit
I decided to wear ponytails today. Pigtails were my sinature hairstyle up until last winter (right before I started taking pictures of my outfits, lol) so I felt so nostalgic wearing them. I don't really like cupcakes anymore, but I don't have the heart to give up this apron. Also, I didn't wear a petticoat today, because I didn't leave my house except to run some errands. But of course, the day I look frumpy, I run into my (fashionable) friend who I haven't seen in a while.....
I made a bow with the waist ties of one of my Bodyline Skirts.
I hate my sewing machine though, sometimes it's all like "Wow Kattoo, I see you're about to finish a small and seemingly simple project. As much as I'd love to help you with that, I'm feeling rather hungry at the moment and I think I'll take 30 minutes to eat some of your thread. But don't worry, I'll make sure to eat all of it. There are starving needles in Africa!" when will it learn that I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE NEEDLES IN AFRICA!
This what I wore today. I'm not sure if it counts as lolita, but I really like it anyway. I watched rebel without a cause for the first time today, and I was really suprised to see a character was wearing a fur collar just like mine, but with a red ribbon. Also, I made the fur collar over winter break, I think it turned out really well.
So I saw this pattern in one of my old G&LBs for a candy shaped pass case, and I thought I'd try it because, the magazine said it was easy and I has all the materials lying around. But, it was not easy, not easy at all. It was death to my sewing machine. It was less of a sewing project and more of an um..... learning experiance. I learned how many layers of fake leather my sewing machine can take before it breaks. I did actually break the needle of my sewing machine in half (luckily I had extras) so.... this is how it was supposed to look
That right there is like the evil axis of sewing, scalops, pleather and small parts Here's how it turned out.
That side's pretty presentable (especially if you're only going to be taking it out for a few seconds at a train station. The other side is a lot worse.
The size of the back thingy was perfect when I cut it, so I don't know why it's so lopsided, and those hems are hideous. I'm not going to throw it away though, I'm going to keep it in memory of the sewing machine needle that was lost in the battle. I might try to remake it, but I don't know if I want to risk it....
