Lolita 52: Your favorite thing to put on your head

Mine's probably my grazia crown bow, it's so small yet so detailed and it's not too casual or too OTT.

Taobao and Closet Child buys

So on Tuesday I recieved my taobao order in the mail, and yesterday I got a lovely package from closet child, it's feeling like all kinds of christmas in here.
Here's what I got from taobao

First there's this cardigan. It's really soft and warm and it's pretty much the only thing I ever want to wear ever. I will probably buy from this shop again.
Even the tag and packaging were cute!

Then there's this skirt. It was dirt cheap, and pretty cute, so I bought it. I'm not too happy with it. The quality of the upper layer is ok, but not great and the lining is not nice at all and it can't hold a petticoat. My least favorite part though is that the elastic waistband doesn't stretch much at all! I got what I paid for I guess. It still looks like a good thing to wear to parties and such.

And then there's this gem of a JSK from Surface Spell. It is made out of a lovely soft wool with a metalic print. It is really thick and warm so it's perfect for winter too! These pictures really don't do it justice, but I'll take nicer ones when I wear it for the first time.

Also, the corset lacing is really thick, I don't know how I feel about that. And it came with a free brooch, that's pretty awesome.
And now for my closet child things. Unfortunately blogger decided to make some of these sideways.
Here is the JSK I bought, it is one of my dream dresses, but I always wanted it in the white colorway, not the blue. The blue is not the usual delicate sax you see in lolita dresses, it's almost a cyan. It's a very summery colour, and it reminds me a lot of Jane Crocker. I might actually try bleaching it to get the white colorway I really want.
 Some details from the dress.

I actually fell in love with his dress after seeing it in my favorite manga.
Here's the skirt I bought, it's also one of my dream prints, and in the colorway I wanted too! It's made of this really beautiful light fabric that has a sort of dot texture. The light weight of this skirt would make it perfect for summer, but I'm still going to have fun wearing it in January!
In case you wanted to see the difference between the two types of blue.

I wore this to my first ever homestuck meet this Saturday! Like the lolita community, I'm not very active in the homestuck community either, but I had a good time, and will probably go to some more meets in the future.

Lolita 52: Three Things about my lolita lifestyle

Today's topic is "three things about my lolita lifestyle"  I don't really know how to answer this, but I'll try my best.

1) I wear lolita a lot.
I am not one of those girls who only wears lolita to cons and meet ups, not that there's anything wrong with that. I usually wear lolita (or lolita inspired styles) 5-7 days a week depending on what I'm doing. When I'm not in lolita I'm usually in pyjamas or my work uniform. I don't take outfit pictures every day though, as I'm sure you've noticed. So if you're wondering what I wear those days I bring you to the next item on this list.

2)I am the Queen of repeating outfits.
The other day one of my freinds mentioned that she's never seen my in the same outfit twice. I had to laugh, because unknown to her, I wear like the same three dresses every week. I don't know why this gets its own bullet point, but it does,

3) I am not very involved with the lolita community.
I don't have a livejournal, and I've only ever been to one meetup. Talking to other lolitas isn't exactly my thing -_______-

5 movies for lolitas

This week's theme of the lolita 5 challenge is "5 movies for lolitas" so here are 5 movies that I think are good for lolita.
1. Amadeus
A movie about Motzart's life which is actually a beautiful movie full of interesting characters, in addition to having fun rococo costumes! Of all the historical fashion movies that exist, this is the most ridiculous costume wise. Of course the rococo period was ridiculous in real life too.
2. Hugo
For it's pretty steam-punk imagery as well as the fact that it's just a good movie.
3. Disney's the Princess and the Frog
You've probably already seen it, but there was pretty much no way this wasn't getting on this list. I think Lottie and Tiana are great lolita icons, and the animation's really great too!
4. Clueless
Kattoo, why is a movie about bitchy 1990s schoolgirls on this list? Because this list is very quickly deteriorating into a list of random movies I like. Anyway, the fashion in this movie rocks and you should watch it.
5. Kamikaze Girls
This is not a lolita movie, this is THE lolita movie. I occasionally hear cry of "would you like this movie if there wasn't a lolita in it?!?" on the internet, to which I answer yes, I would. I could go on about the awesome things about this movie, but instead I'll just say, I'd watch it for Unicorn Ryuji.

Recent shopping

I just wanted to show you some stuff I've bought recently ^^
First up is a Milk heart bag, because I felt like my wardrobe needed it, and I found one second hand for a pretty good price.
Some tall white boots! I got them just after all the snow melted, but I am happy nonetheless because they are fabulous
Also, cute red flats from bodyline! They're actually for a cosplay, but I'm going to wear them with my everyday outfits too.
Lastly, some manga. I am ashamed to say, but I haven't actually read any of these yet. I'm so embarrassed with myself, but I just don't have the time. I never buy manga (I always get it at the library) so when I do it's a pretty big deal, and to buy manga and then just have it sitting around in my room.... so ashamed of myself.

Fashion: the book

Some of my favourite pages from the book on fashion I got for Christmas.
