Makeup Purchases

Some makeup I bought over the summer.
First is the Too Faced blush because I am 100% not above buying something because of the cute packaging.

Cute packaging aside, It's actually a really great product. The color in the center is my go to everyday color but I really like all three

Another item that I bought for the cute factor, and also because I have the world's worst dark circles.

Is is ok in terms of effectiveness, I honestly think that etude house's collegen eye patch did more for my effectiveness. But then again I only use it, maybe once every couple weeks so maybe it would do more if I used it more often.

Kattoo's Life, Summer Days

I thought it was time to start blogging again so in addition to rebranding myself, aka slightly changing the header, I thought I should catch you guys up on what I've been doing. I'm going to do one large Kattoo's life for the summer, and then another for my first semester at design school and then try and do regular Kattoo's life posts starting in December, plus regular shopping/fashion posts. Anyway, let's just start the summer!

June
Interned at a theater
Since I was done with school and all that junk I spent the month of June at a Theatre making costumes, filing things, and doing general grunt work. It was still a lot of fun though.
Went to prom
It's really too bad I didn't get pictures of my prom dress because I actually tried to look cute unlike last year.
Went to a fashion show!
I had never actually been to a fashion show before this. It was actually the student show from the school that I'm now at. It's also where I met my future roommate, who was actually the model pictured.
Graduated!
Classes ended in May but the graduation ceremony wasn't until June. My school was pretty weird.

Favorite Photo of the month!
My dad caught me and a friend taking a selfie at graduation and decided to take a picture of it himself.

July
Worked Out
I actually started working out with a couple of my friends in June, but this pic is from July, so I'm putting it with July.
Taught Children
Over the past several summers I've been an assistant at a preschool, and this summer I was at it again. This is a drawing of me that one of my students did. I can see the resemblance. Just like the gym picture, I started this in June (which means that for a time I was juggling 2 jobs and and internship) but I took this picture in July.
Favorite Photo of the Month
This guy came to our preschool with reptiles to show the kids, I took tons of cute photos of the students playing with snakes and lizards, but I don't think their parents would be ok with me posting them on my blog so here's one of me instead. Looking very fashionable with my uniform shirt and scared, makup-less, face lol.

August

Cosplayed Danerys Targaryen
And looked damn good if I do say so myself
Went to Otakon
And met many other Danys.
Read A Dance With Dragons
My goal for the summer was to read the entire "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. Proud to say that I met my goal!
Went to College Orientation
Because not everything's about Game of Thrones (That's a lie).
Went to King's Dominion with the crew
It was a great way to end the summer, and I'm really proud of myself because I went on some big rollercoasters!
Favourite Photo of the month
I am 100% just choosing this because I look really good in this picture. It's because of the lighting, and the wig, and the tons of makeup that I'm wearing. Comparing this month's photo to last month's is like a before/after.

In conclusion, I didn't get to go anywhere interesting, but I was productive this summer. I did a lot of  a lot of working, exercising, and going out with friends. I really feel like I made the most of this summer.

Outfits for the end of an era

Some big changes are on the way for both me and this blog. The biggest of which being that I won't really be posting outfits as much. There are a couple reasons for that, the first of which is that I don't really wear lolita as much as I used to. Lolita used to be a huge part of my identity, and it's still important to me, but I don't really wear it that often. The second reason is that I'm moving out of my parent's house in a few days and the fancy camera I use to take these pictures actually belongs to my mom. So here are a bunch of outfits which are actually from last October-November whoops.

Kattoo's Life May 2014

This is going to be a really boring Kattoo's life. I can tell you that now. June's post is going to be a lot more interesting. I think I can vouch for the fact that June's post will be more interesting just based on the fact that I took so long to write this one because I was actually doing things. The TLDR of this month's post is that I did some stuff which is pretty important but not easy to take pictures of, you know "hard work" and all that junk.

Finished High School
Here I am exhibiting a cool defiant attitude while celebrating on my final days of high school. Notice how I am not wearing the "class of 2014" T-shirts my friends are wearing, and instead chose to wear red, the opposite of the school color, while throwing up punk rock hand signs.
Painted a Mural!
My art class painted a giant mural on our school after the art show was over. Ok this is kind of a shitty cell phone photo, but I promise you it looks better in real life. It is basically a giant painting of famous American old people taking a selfie with the names of every student and the year painted along with them. I think it's worth mentioning that these fellas weren't even alive at the same time. My entire art class got kind of obsessed with George and Rob as we nicknamed the generals. More George and Rob art was made and now we all have matching T-shirts with them on them.

Favorite photo of the month
A picture of me in my George and Rob shirt. At first I was just going to post the picture of George and Rob that's on the shirt, which was done by my amazingly talented friend Natalia and also my current phone background, but I didn't for two reasons. 1. It's favorite photo of the month not favorite drawing of the month. 2. I look cute in this picture. I am going to post the drawing anyway though.

Parisian Purchases

I just wanted to make a quick post to show you guys what I bought in Paris! Seeing as this is a fashion blog I'll post the clothes first.
The skirt is from Axes Femme. I wanted to buy every single thing in the Axes Femme store, unfortunately that wasn't possible. It also makes me really angry that Axes Femme has physical stores in multiple countries but won't ship overseas what's up with that! The Axes Femme store was also the most popular of any of the stores I visited. The soft feminine look that Axes Femme is known for is really popular right now, and they have a really nice kids section too.
I bought this blouse from Baby, the stars shine bright. I think the buttons on this blouse give it a really cute candy feeling!
Also check out the side details on this dress from Ted Baker! This dress is not only cute, but super comfy and fits me perfectly. It has immediately become a staple in my wardrobe! Also Ted Baker has a 20% student discount which is pretty sweet.
Here are the little goodies I got with my purchases. A postcard and sticker from BABY and a catalog from Axes Femme.
And next on to the books! I love collecting books in French and books about Fashion so I just had to go book shopping in France! I was also with my dad who is possibly the only person who is a more compulsive book buyer than I am, so some of these are actually presents from him.
These two books were bought at the Fashion Museum in Paris. They had lots of these books on different time periods and subcultures. I bought these two so I could cover the whole range of fashions.

Kattoo's Life April 2014

So I'm back with another life update after a month! How's everybody been this past April? It was a pretty good month for me, but I started my job on March 31 so I've been doing a lot of working but I also did a lot of exciting things this month!
Had an Art Show
On the first week of April all the graduating art students had an art show. Here I am with my exhibit. Photo by my mom.
Went to Paris!
I went to Paris to visit my aunt and uncle over Easter break! It was a lot of fun.
Went to my first brand store!
As a lolita, it's always been a dream of mine to visit a brand store. I got a chance to visit the BTSSB store when I was in Paris. The store was adorable and there were so many dresses I lusted after but simply couldn't afford. Even so, I'm glad I went. Picture credit goes to my brother who probably regretted his decision to come shopping with me the minute he saw the entrance to this store.
Dyed my hair for the first time!
I may have only dyed the tips but that's still a pretty big change for my standards. I also completely rearranged the furniture in my house mostly because my brother wanted to but it's still a big change. Rearranging furniture and dying my hair are small changes but they're big for me because I don't change very often. Kind of like how I'm wearing the exact same colors in every single picture this month.
Favorite Photo of the month!
I had a hard time choosing this month's favorite photo because I took so many photos in Paris, but I think this advertisement takes the cake. Do I have any idea what's being sold? Absolutely not. I love this ad mostly because it features a girl wearing a fancy dress and a unicorn mask which is coincidentally what I wore to prom last year.
You know, in case you thought I was kidding.

Kattoo's Life March 2014

So I decided I want to do some more blogging and the best way to do that would be to do monthly updates on my personal life. So Here is what I did in March!
Had a Birthday!
My birthday is March 1st! To celebrate I made myself a new dress (it's the one I'm wearing in the above picture even though can't really see it) ate pancakes for dinner with my friends (see above) and went to see a live show of Rocky Horror for the first time! I had a great birthday!
Wrote a Journal!
I ran out of space in my old journal right before my birthday, and I thought what better time to start a new journal than on a new year of my life? So I bought this cute new journal for my birthday, because the best kind of birthday present is one you get yourself. After I bought this new journal I've been writing in it almost every day, much more often than my old journal. My last journal lasted me years but I have a feeling I might need to buy a new one in 6 months!
Running Wardrobe for "Hero Worship"
So I have an apprenticeship at a professional theater. Last month we put on a show called Hero Worship and I was in charge of wardrobe. The picture's me with the rest of the cast and Crew on our final preformance (photo credit to my mom) you can find me in the black sailor outfit.
Instagramming!
I got an instagram this month and I was instantly obsessed! I'm queenkattoo on instagram for anyone who wants to follow me there.
Game of Thrones!
I got really into Game of Thrones this month! I watched every episode of the TV show and started the books! I can't wait for Season 4!
Favorite photo of the Month!
Yes a "favorite photo of the month will be a feature of my monthly life posts, and at the end of the year I'll do a masterpost of every "favorite photo of the month" this month's favorite photo features me and a friend cutely sharing a drink at a birthday party while the birthday girl glares from behind. Also everybody is wearing flower crowns?

What did you do this March?
